After a three year break due to COVID we're looking forward to staging the 2022 event. Arms collectors and shooting enthusiasts are always amazed at the extensive range of products. BUT! It's not 'just a gunshow' but an educational experience and a great opportunity to see items that are new to the market or seldom displayed in the public domain. Newcastle District Hunting Club is pleased to be conducting R licence testing and firearms safety tests once again at the 2022 Hunter Valley Arms Fair.
Session times for the firearm safety tests are as follows:
Saturday 24th 9:30am and 1:00pm
Sunday 25th 9:30am
Bookings are essential and can be made on the day on a first-in first-served basis up to 15 minutes before the session starts.
Preshow bookings are welcome, please email us at newcastledistricthuntingclub@gmail.com
and request your time slot.
No bookings are required for the R licence, they will be running all day both days.
Testing fees:
R licence $20.00
Firearms safety test $60.00 (adult) free (juniors)
Most major exhibitors are happy to be listed here but some, mostly, 'display only' exhibitors prefer to not publish their contact details.
Admission: Single Adult $15.00
Family: 2 parents & children under 16 $24.00
Children under 16 years are free providing they are accompanied by an adult.
Tickets will be available at the door by cash or card or can be purchased on-line @StickyTickets and presented for scanning as a printed copy or on your phone.
We've successfully used StickyTickets for the past 2 years at Bathurst Arms Fair and have found that on-line ticket holders can gain quicker admission than tickets purchased at the door.
StickyTickets do, however, charge a small processing fee of about $1.50/ticket.
Cancellation policies apply.– Tickets can be cancelled upto 4 days before the event begins.
A refund (less 1.5% bank charges) will be at the organisers discretion.
Patrons may be randomly scanned and large bags/backpacks will be inspected.
Patrons will asked to declare items of personal property which they wish to bring into the fair. A receipt (or photo) may be issued as proof of ownership.
Bag inspections and proof of purchase receipts will be inspected on exit.
Remember, before handling a firearm, you must first speak to the selling dealer and present the appropriate licence.
On-line tickets allow you to print, or download to your phone, a ticket for presentation and cancellation at the door.
Book for Saturday or Sunday.
A small charge is made by the ticketing company, StickyTickets.
Newcastle based, PPG Security will be providing their services to secure the 2 day event in accordance with NSW Police requirements and community expectations. Bag inspections and sighting of receipts for purchases are a condition of entry/exit.

Security guards and electronic surveillance will be on-site 24/7 for the entire duration of the fair. Bag inspections and electronic scanners will be in use at the exit. All purchases must be receipted. Only firearms that are legal under current NSW Firearm Laws are allowed at the fair.
No C or D category firearms or 'prohibited weapons or parts' will be displayed or for sale.
